This time in From the drawer series the tasting note of Otwarcie Sezonu – Saison from Trzech Kumpli brewery. This note was created on January 2016. I have a small hope, that the name of this beer: Opening the seazon in English would become the spelling for next few days and lead out of my motorcycle from the garage…
Evaluated beer is called Otwarcie Sezonu and was produced by Trzech Kumpli brewery, using 13% of extract and Hallertauer, East Kent Goldings, Saaz hops. It is Saison style with 5,7% of alcohol.
The color of this beer is medium intense straw, viscosity is very weak, about the clarity – this beer is pretty hazy. Foam is white, very dense and goes down very slowly. Aroma is medium intense, could be described as malty with some acidity, some clove and a few of other herbs.
The bouquet is sligthly floral with delicate acidity, some clove and very small tone of malts. The taste is not too intense, but also could not be described as shallow, for sure it is not watery, it is reach instead, in some moments even moving and refreshing.
Attack is aromatic on a medium level with low level of saturation. In the body I can feel some acidity broke with malts, which results with a lot of fun and pleasure. The body is rather static. Finish is short and with no character, but leaves astonishing and suprisingly long aftertaste. Considering the style – it is very good example of Saison. Acidity with some malts is refreshing and is not choking with too strong aroma. Perfect beer if you are looking for refreshing effect. Acidity is medium, with character of propolis, bitterness very weak, slightly hoppy, sweetness medium, malty.
Summarizing: good and interesting Saison. Worth attention, worth comming back, worth recommendation as an example of this style. I was drinking a few better Saisons, but this one is also very good. Just perfect beer for sommer Sunday afernoon. It would be perfect as a companion in a meeting with some friends, in a lonely evening it might be a little bit too airy…
