This time it will be a short record to From the drawer series. Here is concise tasting note about Pomarańczarnie Króla beer produced by Jan Olbracht brewery.

This note was created on March 2015. I must say, that it is pretty short, I didn’t expatiate on this beer too much. Lets see, what is the result…

Pomarańczarnie Króla beer from Jan Olbracht brewery

Evaluated beer is called Pomarańczarnie Króla and was brewed by Jan Olbracht brewery. It was created as a Witbier, using Hersbrucker hops and 12,5% of extract. Alcohol at level of 5,6%.

The beer was pale yellow, the color itself was medium intense. About clarity – it was subdued, viscosity was low, the foam was about centimeter high right after pouring, white, thick and was going down pretty fast.

Aroma was very intense, citrus with high tones of orange, additionally strong tones of hops and coriander. The taste was very intense, sometimes almost suffocating. The bouquet consist of citrus (again) with strong character of orange, hops and coriander with additional tones of bread.

Attack was slightly aromatic, was pinching the tongue a little bit stronger – medium saturation. The body was presented by tastes expansion, all of them in perfect harmony, deep and static. Finish was pretty short, but left long and very nice aftertaste.

This beer was pretty well balanced. Acidity was medium intense in character of citrus, bitterness also medium – hoppy with tones of coriander, sweetness was a little bit stronger, but still on medium level, with character of bread and orange. All tastes were corresponding well with each other.

Summary: this beer is very nice and tasty version of Witbier – unique in taste, but I must say, a little bit too common. This beer did not aspire to be extraordinary, but more like an everyday drink. Its definitely worth coming back – alone and with some friends. It would be perfect to drink after hard, sonny day as refreshing sip – after all, this is Witbier.

Final evaluation is 7/10.

According to this note – as I mentioned at the beginning – it is pretty concise. There were some beers, on which I didn’t spend too much time, but I wanted to leave a mark of them for future. And the future came – I can share my experience right here. Please, let me know in comments section, which type of notes do you prefer more – short and concise, like this one, or more like previous ones in From the drawer series – long and descriptive. I invite you to discussion.
